The staff were really helpful lovely welcome. We stayed in the deluxe double room easy access to the pool and spa. Room clean warm and comfortable. Tea a coffee facilities. Pool area really nice stayed midweek so wasn't too busy able to get 2 loungers around the pool. The only thing we were not happy about was the food. Ate in the 1744 restaurant we had fish and chips the fish was really greasy. Drinks expensive, breakfast was ok. Staff friendly.

Great experience We stayed here overnight last week. Lovely old building with great gardens. Rooms were fantastic and the food was first class. All staff very friendly and everything was reasonably priced consistently during the type of establishment that it is. Would stay again.

Better than ever. We have been coming here for many years and this visit was, as ever, superb value for money. The room we had,408, was absolutely excellent. They gave spent big money on refurbishment and you can see where it's gone. As ever, the service and food on the 1744 restaurant was really good. Friendly and efficient. Will be making another booking very soon.

Fantastic hotel, great for families. Really lovely family room, my sons bed was sectioned away from ours so we really had out own space, he loved that he had his own tv too. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. Played tennis, ping pong, mini golf all for free, such a nice touch, sadly didn't have time for the frisbee golf. Had a lovely swim, jacuzzi and sauna too, great hotel, close to Kynren which was amazing, will definitely be back.

We arrived at the suggested check in time to find a queue of about 100 people all trying to check in at the same time. People were queuing right down the corridor! It was also alarming to hear people who had already checked in coming back to reception to say their room wasn’t clean! While this did not give a very good first impression, the reception team worked very hard trying to get everyone checked in.
Our room was small with a very small bed. The room was also very cold and we couldn’t get any heat out of the radiator. There was a small tea/coffee tray in the room, however, there wasn’t any bottled water.
The spa was exceptionally busy and not at all relaxing. We couldn’t get a chair to put our towels on. We asked for robes at the spa reception but we were told they were all in the wash.
I’d had the foresight to book the restaurant days earlier and I’m glad I did as people waiting to check in were only given the option of 6pm or 9pm.
The restaurant was actually really nice which redeemed what had up to now been a bit of a disappointing stay. The food was delicious. We did go over the £32 allowance as we had two courses and my husband had steak but it would have been easy to eat within the allowance.
Breakfast the following morning was also nice with a good range of hot buffet and continental options.
All in all our stay was ok. The hotel itself, especially the spa needs an update. The spa was very disappointing and not at all like the spas we’ve been to at other 4-5 star hotels. The restaurant was the redeeming factor in our stay. The food was lovely.
I don’t think we’ll be in a hurry to return to this hotel.

First and foremost the staff were lovely . The cost of the voucher however was actually more expensive than booking direct with the hotel so buying the voucher is sent good value for money . I booked the upgraded room but , although the room was nice it wasn’t exactly what I’d expected having viewed the images of ‘similar’ rooms online
