The surrounding countryside is scenic enough to keep you busy with long walks or cycling excursions - you'll have half-day bike hire, so you could take a leisurely cycle to the 19th century Kinnitty Castle, which is approximately 1km away. If you fancy a little more action, you could head up into the Slieve Bloom Mountains to try your hand at mountain biking, horse riding or game fishing, or if you're happy to go a little further afield, you could hike the rolling hills to enjoy panoramic views from the Rock of Dunamaise.
